Byesville Rotary celebrates Xmas by giving

Pictured: Byesville Rotary donates toys to Secret Santa and Rolling Hills Angel Tree.

Byesville Rotarians celebrated a club Christmas at their annual Christmas Breakfast. Members brought a covered dish to share and a gift to donate. Half the gifts were donated to the Secret Santa project and half to the Meadowbrook Interact club to help the students provide for their Angel Tree project.

Club members finalized plans for their largest service project of the year--their annual Christmas food basket distribution. The club will be providing food baskets this month to over 190 Rolling Hills families. Each family who signed up for this Byesville service project will receive a box of perishable food items including a turkey and a box of non-perishable items and canned goods.

Interact, the Byesville sponsored service club for high school students, is sponsoring an Angel Tree. This service project is funded by the students at Meadowbrook High School and by faculty members at the rolling Hills elementary and middle schools. The Interact club donated money the club earned by helping at one of the Byesville Rotary summer chicken BBQ.

The Interact students will also wrap the gifts for the 45 students who were picked by the three elementary schools in Rolling Hills to receive the Angel Tree gifts. The students will shop for any gifts that are not donated.

Byesville Club members will be assisted in the food basket preparation and distribution by the Meadow Brook Interact Club and other friends and supporters. Community members who would like to help with this Christmas project and make Christmas brighter for local families can mail donations to Byesville Rotary, PO Box 211. Byesville, OH 43823.
